Increased skin thickness and firmness through collagen stimulation
As patients age, the loss of natural collagen leads to thinner and structurally weakened skin. Bio-stimulatory aesthetic treatments with Sculptra, containing poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), can stimulate the skin to produce more collagen.1,2,3 They are used to fill wrinkles and add volume to the face.
Why aesthetic treatments with Sculptra?
The physical changes associated with aging can have a major impact on an individual’s self-esteem. Women over 50, in particular, are often dissatisfied with changes such as sagging skin, and they may feel they are trapped within an aging body.4 In the face, aging typically produces accentuated nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines (laugh lines), and chin wrinkles.
Sculptra is based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic biodegradable polymer. It augments soft tissue through the stimulation of an inflammatory tissue response and subsequent collagen deposition. Sculptra is typically injected into the deep dermis or subcutaneous layer to provide firmness and volume, and to correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds.
Sculptra renews the skin by improving the appearance of wrinkles for up to 25 months after the last treatment.5,6

WHERE TO USE SCULPTRA
As the human body ages, the natural loss of collagen leads to thinner and structurally weakened skin.7,8 In the face, this process produces accentuated nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines (laugh lines), and chin wrinkles.
